Little about me.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Tokio came to Fort Worth, Texas in Fall 1999, after graduating from high school. He was a member of a musical theatre company in Tokyo, where he performed in original musicals.
A long-time New Yorker (and a 2-year Angeleno). Whether Tokio has to go-go-dance, wait tables, clean toilets, iron yukatas, or teach English, or Math, to pay bills, he just cannot quit exploring the inner lives of different characters, or maybe just of himself. Tokio may be best known as Joan of Arc in Arthur Kopit's "Chamber Music" in the Abingdon Theatre NYC, directed by Tony-nominated director (and, OF COURSE, a wonderful actor,) Austin Pendleton. Or he may be known as a lonely noodle factory worker Lawrence in Gregory Mitnick's short "Lawrence," which earned him a Best Acting craft award in First Run Film Festival 2007.
Tokio has a Theatre (Acting, Set Design) degree from CUNY -Hunter College. He also studied Psychology in Texas Christian University, his initial passion being becoming a criminal counselor. Tokio is a former member of HB Studio Ensemble Theater company in West Village, NYC.
Tokio is next seen in Alejandro Monterverde's epic film "Little Boy," in which he plays a WWII Japanese soldier opposite Michael Rapaport, and in Matthew Doyle's LGBT feature drama "Chasing Pavement."
